Writing

There are always various projects ongoing at SilverPen Publishing, be they simple blogs for collecting thoughts or spaces for novel development, and eventually some of these projects might reach a point where they can be published.

All work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 license and will always be free to read and/or download. I am committed to self-publishing for this very reason, to retain control of my work, so when something does enter print-media form, you’ll still be able to download a copy of the book in PDF.

For now, SilverPen Publishing is made up of a series of blogs. You’ve already seen the main one on the front page, which is comprised of personal updates, theological ramblings, book reviews, technology articles, and anything else that comes to mind and isn’t part of a specific project.

Christian Newlyweds

As my wife, April, and I approached marriage, we began to receive a lot of questions from friends, both single and otherwise, regarding relationships and marriage. Realizing that there are a lot of books out there to address just these things, we also looked around and came to a couple of conclusions. First, these books weren’t generally written by newlyweds, and so lacked that perspective and sense of immediacy to the events. Second, they aren’t generally written with high school or college students in mind.

Since April and I are both involved in a local college ministry, we began work on this project together with the goal of having something we can pull together and potentially publish in 2-3 years’ time.

The Stormsworn Saga

I’m currently working on the development of a fantasy fiction series that focuses on an old Dungeons & Dragons character of mine, Arias Stormsworn. This blog is for the development of that character, but none of the work done here will make its way into a book. Rather, this is for testing ideas, trying things out with character development, and creating the backstory that will influence the work to come.

Poetry

What little poetry I write these days ends up here, if it’s any good… and sometimes even if it’s not. I don’t write nearly as much poetry as I used to, and most of my old work is archived away, for which I imagine you are quite grateful. Feel free to drop by, read, and leave a comment, but I don’t expect updates often to this blog.
