Copy Editing

Copy editing is the basic review, editing, and correction of format, style, and accuracy in a written piece. This process is in some ways more in-depth than workshopping because it examines individual words and phrases for consistency and correctness, but it does not address the ideas of the piece, so issues with plot or completeness of the piece will not be addressed. If you want complete assurance that your writing is perfect, check out our general editing service.

In short, copy editing fixes typos, punctuation, and sentence structure. I charge about $30 an hour for this service, but that price is subject to change–I’m not going to charge you for an hour if the work only takes me 5-10 minutes, but work filled with jargon or complex terms (such as a medical essay) may require additional research and subsequently take longer.
